Teenage Ghost

    Eartha lit a candle and set it in the middle of the table and held out her hands to Rhonda. “He is close, we must link hands to make the connection.”
    Rhonda quickly took Eartha’s hands.
    Jeff looked at Eartha with disgust and crossed his arms.
    Eartha closed her eyes and leaned back slightly. “Spirit realm, forgive my intrusion. This woman wishes to speak to the one she calls Jeff.” Eartha pushed a button under her chair with her left foot, and the overhead lights began to flicker.
    Rhonda felt the hair on her arms and back of her neck begin to stand up.
    “What is it you wish to say spirits? Speak to us!” Eartha took her foot off the button and the lights stabilized.
    “There’s a parent night at Albatross Elementary on Apple and Grove.” Jeff told Eartha. “I know because I’ve been watching them rehearse their play for a month everyday after school.”
    “I’m seeing a school and children.” Eartha rocked back and forth. “The words Apple and Orchard.”
    “The play starts at seven o’clock, Wednesday night.” Jeff was sure Rhonda wouldn’t understand the apple and orchard connection. “And don’t confuse her, tell her flat out it’s at the corner of Apple and Orchard Street.”
    Suddenly Eartha shouted a revelation, “Nooo! They are street signs! The corner of Apple Street and Orchard Street. Seven at night, Wednesday, at the play.” Eartha stopped and opened her eyes wide. She made her voice sound as if she was giving an ominous warning, “Be there.
