Teenage Ghost

Brenda’s eyes filled with compassion towards her new friend, “What happened?”
Vi shrugged and screwed up her face for a second, “I don’t really want to talk about it.” She quickly changed the subject, “Have you ever thought about adding pink to your hair?”
Brenda’s eyes widened at the thought of it, then her hopes fell at though of the price. “I don’t know that I could.”
“Why not?” Vi questioned. “You make good grades don’t you?”
“Yes.”, Brenda had always made good grades.
“You stay out of trouble at school. You don’t hurt anyone.” Vi stood up and walked towards the mirror and looked at her reflection in it. She smiled a sly smile and looked at Brenda through the mirror. “I bet you don’t have a mean bone in your body.”
    Brenda blushed and smiled.
“You don’t have to dye your hair or anything like that.” Vi assured her. “All you have to do is get some of those pink hair extensions from the mall.”
Brenda’s eyes flushed with excitement. She’d seen those for sell in several places in the mall. They weren’t too terribly expensive, not so expensive she couldn’t get hands on at least one. She blurted out in her excitement, “I always wanted to get one, but I don’t know how to put them on, or make them look cool.” She nervously laughed, “I don’t want it to look stupid.”
Brenda immediately wished she hadn’t said a word, now she looked bad in front of her new friend.
Vi took no notice to her friend’s insecurity, “I can help with that.” She turned to her new friend and smiled, “I’ll get some Vixen Red ones and I’ll show you at the slumber party.”
Brenda’s eyes widened again in excitement. Her heart felt so light and full at the same time she thought it would float out of her chest and explode all at once. She wanted to jump up and down and squeal in excitement, but she didn’t dare do anything but smile a big bright smile.
Vi looked at her friend’s excitement, she felt the power radiating off her. Vi almost felt drunk from it. This poor young girl had been alone for so long. All that energy was bottled up inside her, concentrated. It would be foolish to loose this girl as a friend, she had years of power stored up in her to share.
Vi thoughtfully added, “You know, I think I will pick up your pink ones too while I’m there.” She then added quickly, “You don’t have to pay me back. It’s a gift.”
Brenda jumped up and grabbed hold of Vi and hugged her tightly.
Vi smiled a wicked smile, she had never felt this much power in her life. She could feel it all the way through her, pulsating like a wave. She felt like she could rule the world.
