Teenage Ghost

Vi walked away from them. It wasn’t true, she didn’t hate Jeff. She wasn’t fond of Jeff, she didn’t like him, but hate was such a strong word.
“Wait here a minute.” Evan said to Inja as he ran after Vi.
Inja’s heart sank deep into her stomach as she watched her boyfriend run after his ex-girlfriend. A girl who could see him outside of school.
“Vi! Wait!” Evan called out as he jogged towards her. “I can take you there, in the mall, to the last place I saw him.”
Vi turned sharply to faced him and demanded, “When?”
“After school today, I’ll meet you at the mall entrance.”
Vi glanced over at a dejected Inja sitting alone at the picnic table in a crowded courtyard full of noisy students. “What about her?” she nodded towards Inja.
Evan turned around and looked at Inja sitting alone. Her head was bowed down over a half eaten lunch. She looked as if she might start crying at any second. “She wont be there.” Evan said as he turned back around.
Vi wanted to ask why, but decided she could ask later at the mall. “I’ll meet you at the food court, alone.” She then smiled playfully at him, “It’s a date.”
Evan’s frowned at her and warned, “It’s not a date, Vi.”
Vi continued to smile at him playfully and giggled, then she walked off and left him to his goody goody cheerleader. She smiled wickedly to herself, who wouldn’t be joining them later.
