Teenage Ghost

Vi and the gang approached the vending machines. A small group of students were already gathered there. The group moved away, whispering to each other, as the goths approached.
    Vi grinned in satisfaction.
The boys all gathered behind Vi, shielding her from the outside so no one could see what she was doing. She had Brenda and Emily stand on either side.
“Watch.” Lore said to Emily, his arm brushed against hers as he pointed at Vi’s hand.
Emily felt strange when Lore brushed against her, she’d never felt like that before. She wasn’t sure if she should trust the feeling or ignore it. Emily’s thoughts were interrupted by the falling of candy bars into the bottom of the tray.
She looked up and saw Vi’s hand against the machine. Vi was laughing while the spiral in the vending machine spun til it was empty.
Emily didn’t make the connection, “Is it always broke like that?”
Vi smiled at Emily, “I have so many things to show you.”
A burst of laughter rang out behind the group.
A small gang of less popular girls stood behind the gothic teenagers. Part of the “Spirit Squad” stood with their pink and white phones out, taking pictures of the huddled group and making comments on social media about evil rituals and unholy gatherings.
A wicked smile grew over Vi’s face as she looked Emily in the eyes. “Watch.”, Vi said slyly.
Vi quickly turned around and walked towards the girls. She waved her hand in front of the phones, and as she did each phone mysteriously went dead.
“My battery just died!” Mary Mae gasped in shock.
“My screen froze.” Latisha looked up and glared at Vi.
The other three just shook their heads and their phones before the entire group walked off.
Emily looked at Vi, then quickly approached her. In a voice that only Vi could hear she asked, “Did you do that?”
Vi’s wicked grin only got bigger. “We should have a party Friday. In Raven Cemetery.” Vi looked at their new friend. “You’re not too scared to come are you?”
Emily smiled meekly. She was too interested in what Vi could do to be afraid. “No.”, she replied quickly.
    “I am!”, Brenda said loudly.
Jarzon slipped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her close, “Don’t be scared, Baby. I’ll protect you.”
Brenda giggled a little, she would brave almost anything for Jarzon. Even a cemetery.
