Teenage Ghost
Vi added in pink extensions to Brenda’s hair. “So you can go out right, on Halloween? You’re not still grounded for that?” she asked.
Brenda looked in the mirror at herself, “Yeah I was going to go out this year and get some candy, you want to come? Free candy. There’s nothing sweeter.”
Vi smiled and chuckled, “I want to do another séance.”
“What?!” Brenda turned around. “In the school?”
“Yes, in the school.”
“Isn’t that why I’m grounded now?” she turned back around, “Now you want to go back there.”
“Relax it will be at night, not during school hours.”
“I’m not staying up til midnight either….”
“Relax Brenda.” Vi barked. “It wont be at midnight, more like eight or nine-ish. I already have a way inside the school at night. All you have to do is be there.”
Brenda got flashbacks to the movie theater.
Vi narrowed her eyes at the back of Brenda’s head, “The last time you were this uptight about things, I got you a boyfriend out it.”
Brenda smiled, it was true. Without her interference, she never would have met Jarzon.
“He’ll be there you know. And Emily, and Josh. And Lore and Jennifer.”
“Isn’t it weird how Lore and Jennifer just suddenly became a thing like overnight?” Brenda questioned. “I mean they’ve been together now for two months, but still it was all of the sudden. I thought he didn’t like her in that way.”
Vi chuckled, “Yes, and now they are all giggly and holding hands while they walk down the hall.”
“Getting written up for ‘Personal Space’ violations.” Brenda chuckled a little.
“At least they have detention together.” Vi said.
“Yeah, I hear she’s not allowed to see him outside school. So might as well get in a little extra time when they can.” Brenda smiled and looked at the spot where her phone would normally be resting. “I think it’s kind of romantic.”
Vi thought of Evan and Inja and grew a little jealous, but at least she wasn’t getting detention just to spend more time with him.
