Teenage Ghost

Vi tapped on the outside of Josh’s window around midnight.
Josh was shocked when looked out the window, he opened it quickly and quietly. “How did you know where I live?”
“You haven’t been answering my texts.” Vi complained as she climbed in the window ignoring his questions. “I’ve been trying to contact you for the past two days.” She stood in the center of the room and twirled around to face him. Her arms were crossed, her glare was angry, and her tone was flat. “You better have a good excuse for ducking me the past few days. Like, you found someone new.” She gave the room the once over to see if there were any pictures laying about.
“I got grounded.” Josh explained and sat on the edge of his bed facing Vi. “They took my phone and everything else.”
“And you just let them?” Vi raised her eyebrow. “Why didn’t you just sneak out? Why didn’t you come up and see me?”
Josh really didn’t have an answer for that. Since he had gotten grounded and had everything taken from him, he had lost a little of his rebellious spirit.
“Tsk.” Vi sat on the bed and looked at him. “It doesn’t matter. School starts soon. You’ll be able to get a new job after classes start.” She reached out and took his hand into hers, and laced their fingers together. “And we’ll be able to spend all the time together we want to then, at school. You wont have to sneak out.”
“I’m not sneaking out now.” Josh said in confusion.
Vi smiled at him and leaned in, she kissed him slowly and sweetly. She pulled back and said softly, “But you’re going to, right?” She looked into his eyes, “If only just to see me.”
“I don’t know Vi.” Josh pulled away from her. He wasn’t sure she was worth all the trouble he was in with his family. He used to enjoy dinner time everyday, now it was a nightmare to sit there and listen. It wasn’t always, it was different before Vi. He was different.
“You snuck out for your last girlfriend.” Vi snapped at him and let go of his hand. “I’m not as good as her though, is that it?” she was starting to get loud.
“Sssshhhhhh!” Josh stood up and tried to put his hand over her mouth.
Vi bit his hand, and glared at him as he pulled away from her. She stood up in the center of his room.
She then yelled as loudly as she could muster, “You told me you loved me!”
    Josh was filled with fear.
Heavy footsteps could be heard bounding towards his bedroom door.
Josh reached feverishly to grab Vi and pull her behind him, but before he could reach her the door opened.
Josh turned, his entire pallor kin to a corpse, his mouth gaping open.
“What is going on in here?!?!” Josh’s Dad roared. “I told you, you were grounded! No T.V., No Radio, No internet.” He bounded past Josh almost knocking him over and grabbed the laptop off the desk. He turned to warn Josh before he slammed the door, “I mean it. This is for school purposes only right now!”
Josh stood alone in his room, his heart pounded out of his chest. “I think I’m going crazy. Like those people in the horror movies.” he said to himself.
