Teenage Ghost

He looked over at Vi. She could see fear in his eyes, as tears were beginning to form.
“What if someone took him.” Evan started to cry. “What if some serial killer…”
“Oh! Come on, man!” Vi exclaimed loudly and threw her hands up in the air. In an agitated voice she began to scold him, “The worst crime that happens here is someone leaves flaming dog poop on your doorstep. I don’t know what happened to Jeff but I’m sure he’s fine. Wherever he is. Why don’t you just go home. I think I can handle it from here.” Vi gave him a little shove, so he could get the idea.
“What do you mean?” Evan questioned. “What are you going to do?”
Vi narrowed her eyes at him, “Nothing. I’m just going to talk to her, find out some things about Jeff is all.”
Evan looked at her with mistrust.
Vi looked up at the sky, soon it would dark. “Your mother will be worried about you. You don’t want her to think you ended up like your friend Jeff, do you?”
“I can text her.” Evan said coolly.
“You can leave.” Vi warned and stood up. “And I’m not kidding this time. Thanks for the help, and getting me here.”
Evans phone suddenly buzzed in his jacket, he pulled it out and looked at it.
It was a text from his mom to come home for dinner.
