Teenage Ghost
All of the sudden there was a shrill scream in the air.
Evan jerked back away from Vi.
Vi glared at him for a second then pulled a phone out of her jacket pocket.
The two continued walking towards Jeff’s house.
“You HAVE to help me!!!”, it was Brenda.
Vi breathed in deeply and quickly exhaled. “What happened?”
Brenda texted back. “The school texted my mom, they said I was not in class during 4th. They said I was in the stairwell. That magnet trick didn’t work!”
“Relax. I’ll figure something out.” Vi texted back.
“I’m grounded for 6 months. She’s taking the phone when she gets home from work.”
“It’ll be alright.” Vi assured her.
“What about Jarzon? I’m never going to see him again! My life is over!”
“You’ll see Jarzon, she can’t keep Jarzon from you. Don’t worry about the phone, we’ll get you a new phone. She wont know about it. Your life is not over. Just forget about it. Take your punishment, cry your tears, and we’ll talk about it tomorrow.”
Brenda’s last text on her phone, “k.” The phone was snatched from her hands and turned off by her mother.
