Teenage Ghost
After the movie was over, Evan gave Inja an awkward goodbye hug in front of her friends. “That was fun.” Evan texted her as he walked home from the theatre. “Maybe next time, without your friends.” he added an winking emotioncon to the end of his text.
Inja squealed in the backseat as she read the text, “He wants to go out again!” She hugged her phone to her chest. She’d never been so happy in all her life.
Jody, Kiesha, and Belenda all congratulated her on her first date… And her new boyfriend.
The Gothic group lead by Vi were now sitting on and around the playground equipment at the nearest park.
Josh laid back on the slide, then Vi straddled him and sat on top. She leaned over and began kissing him.
Jarzon and Brenda stood over near the swings. Jarzon moved so he blocked Brenda’s view of the kissing couple. He glanced over his shoulder at them and said, “They can do that for hours.”
Brenda nervously half laughed in response.
“So you go to Deerborne High? I haven’t seen you before.” Jarzon turned his attention to Brenda.
Brenda blushed and looked at the ground, “Yes, I just, I normally don’t look like this.” She looked past him at Vi, “Vi gave me a make over.”
“Well I like it.” Jarzon said. “You look very pretty.”
Brenda didn’t know what to say. No one had ever treated her this way.
Jarzon laughed a little at the shock on her face, “You’re going to have to get used to that if you want to be my girlfriend. You do, you right?”
Brenda felt light headed, she barely heard the words he spoke. They almost didn’t register in her mind. “It’s very sudden.”, she managed to say.
Jarzon reached down and touched her cheek lightly with the back of his finger. “If I wait, someone else will snatch you up.”
Brenda smiled nervously and looked up at him.
“Take a chance.” Jarzon almost pleaded. “We don’t have to be like them. We can take it slow and get to know each other.” He could see she was scared, and maybe not ready. But something inside him filled him with urgency, he was afraid he would loose her. To Lore or Janus. “We can just hold hands and talk. And maybe sometimes I can cuddle with you, or just hug you close.” He then let his voice go soft and low, “Don’t say no, okay Brenda. Don’t say no.”
Brenda looked at him and smiled. How could she say no after all of that. It was almost everything she had ever wanted. “I wont say no, then.” Brenda replied softly.
Jarzon smiled and grabbed her hand in his and held it. “Then it’s official. We’re together.” He looked over his shoulder at the couple who was still making out and shouted. “Your girl here just got herself a boyfriend, is that what you were after Vi?”
Vi came up for air and looked at the two.
“Congrats, way to go.” Josh waved at them from the slide.
“No.” Vi sounded a little annoyed. “I wanted her to break hearts at every turn, and leave all you boys hanging wanting more.” she stuck her tongue out in a playful manner.
“Oh that’s your job.” Josh grabbed Vi’s shirt and pulled her back down. The two resumed kissing.
Jarzon looked into Brenda’s eyes, “I really like you, you know that right?”
Brenda smiled and nodded, “I like you too.”
