Vampires
“Have you seen the news?” Jessica questioned Augustus. “Utheus and Argon have laid waste to another two max security prisons creating their Army. How will we ever stop them?”
Jeremiah stood from his resting place on the couch to warn Augustus, “They will be coming after you first. Utheus will have no problem cutting the rest of us down to get to you.”
“I know he wont,” Jessica piped in. “Me especially.”
“Call a meeting of the ancients.” Jeremiah continued.
“That has already begun.” Augustus looked away from the two. “Azues is making plans with the others. Jeremiah will be going as our representative, the rest of us must begin to train. Utheus is making an unskilled army, he’s impatient and likely to attack us before the meeting begins.”
Jessica became uneasy at the thought.
Jules half laughed with sarcasm, “And they have virgin blood, making them super-villians. Yes, lets all go out and try to defeat super-villians.”
“You just need a good strategy.” August barked back. Then soften his tone til no one but him could hear and said, “and some good allies.” He then took a deep breath and exhaled, “Jules, come with me.”
Augustus walked to his room and closed the door behind him. He walked over to his large wooden chest, where he kept his ancient roman armor. He would need to pull it out and make the necessary repairs to the worn leather, there was no longer a blacksmith who knew the craft. He needed to seek out his enemies and form an alliance.
Jules entered the room.
“I need you to go to New York. I need you to find Arch Bishop Gefaldi, but do not enter the building he works in. Find him on the street, and approach him. Do not touch him, or let any of his detail touch you. Tell him you are the last line of defense against Utheus and Argon, tell him what we know. Ask for his assistance.” Augustus instructed.
Jules responded, “The Catholic Church?”
“We have no choice.” Augustus responded. “We need more numbers, they are far more connected worldwide. They communicate freely with other denominations as well. We need their organization to back us in the war with human soldiers. They will not attack a human city first, no one even knows what they are yet. They will attack us first, before we can stop them, before fear is on our side to recruit.”
