Vampires

Ashlee had been watching Mandy Alison for three weeks now.
Mandy was a full time student and her roommates were all males. There was something different about Mandy that made her stand out in a crowd, she had a sort of glow. All the people in Mandy’s apartment had that same glow.
It meant only one thing. They were the hunters.
Ashlee never approached any of the group, she watched from a safe distance day after day. She crept in silence at night to peek in the windows. Every once in a while one of the hunters would see her out of the corner of their eye. They would take no notice though.
She was sure these were the ones.
She walked down the street towards Viktor’s apartment. She hadn’t seen or heard of hunters since the late nineteen eighties. She was among the last to defeat their kind in the nineteen nineties. She watched the last hunter fall.
She had killed many herself, and understood the importance of her scouting role. “There are six in total. Five males, one female. They are going to the university as their cover. The oldest can’t be more than twenty two.” she reported to Viktor. “They all have the tell tale signs.”
    “No weaknesses?”
“I’m sure they have plenty.” Ashlee shrugged. “They don’t know how to fight, for starters. Some of them doubt their abilities. They are easy to take.”
Viktor thought about several possibilities for taking out these nuisances. “Report to Alfonz. He will require more detail.” Viktor pushed her further down the line of command.
Ashlee began to make her way uptown to Alfonz’s high-rise when she noticed an unfamiliar vampire.
Elizabeth got up from her seat on the bus and sat next to Ashlee. “Where you going, Beautiful?” Elizabeth smiled.
Ashlee smiled back brightly and tilted her head, but said nothing.
“I saw you watching those hunters from Hamches.” Elizabeth made herself known.
    “Hamches.” Ashlee’s smile never faded.
“Don’t act like you don’t know,” Elizabeth scolded. “I know a great deal more about these hunters than you do.”
“And?” Ashlee shrugged, shaking her head and giving her best preppy sarcasm.
“I can help you take them out of the equation.”
“I can do that myself.” Ashlee abruptly cut her off and turned her head away.
“I want to talk to your Sire.”
“You want to talk to our Patriarch.” Ashlee continued looking straight ahead. “And why should I let you?”
“Have you ever tasted Virgin blood?” Elizabeth lured.
Ashlee turned and looked at the new vampire with curiosity.
