Vampires

“Sweets” Jarone was named for his love of sugar. He was by no means a small man either. He lead The Dead, a small gang on the lower east side. Mostly prostitution and heavy drugs, they were on the rise. This morning was no different than any other, he was eating ice cream and cake while watching the morning news on his big screen on the top floor of the Asfalt Apartments.
A primpy, frilly, sixteen year old girl dressed in pink, yellow, and oranges walked down the streets of downtown. Through the back alleys she walked through a sea of negative and neutral colors. Like some kind of strange creature, everyone stared at her. No one said a word to her about being in the wrong place at the wrong time as she entered the lower east side. They just stared in awe at the boldness she had to be there.
The girls blonde ponytail was a mass of curls. Her make up like a fresh spring morning. She smiled as she walked into the partially enclosed courtyard.
The courtyard where the local gang hung out.
“This just ain’t your day.” a small boy aged around eight walked out into the courtyard.
Ashlee cocked her head to the right and tried to understand what the kid was saying.
The boy looked around to his left. As he did seven teenage boys pulled themselves off the walls they had been resting against.
“You took a wrong turn.” the kid walked closer to her.
Ashlee laughed and kicked the kid as hard as she could. As he fell backwards from the force, she pulled her gun from her waist. One by one she shot each guy, with bizarre speed and skill.
The blonde sixteen year old giggled as the last of the bodies slumped to the ground.
A hailstorm of bullets opened up on her from the roof.
Ashlee let her body fall to the ground.
The group came down off the roof and stood in the courtyard in a circle.
“Sweets” Jarone walked over to kick the corpse.
Ashlee jumped up and took a big bite.
The rest of the gang stood in shock as Ashlee used the automatic to mow them down. It was over before it had even started. The last body fell before she was done feeding.
Ashlee felt the sugar rush as she dropped “Sweets” to the ground. Her pupils dilated, her heart began to beat fast. A feeling of euphoria began to grasp her. She licked her lips and giggled with self satisfaction.
She jumped up and down a few times in her happiness. Spotting the hopscotch board painted on the ground, she jumped it through before skipping out of the courtyard.
