Believers

Lake Findley was purchased by a private owner. The owner changed the name to Lake Hope and donated the land to Cornerstone Baptist Church. The place was to be used for various retreats and Bible Camps for children. The church added the cabins right before the “Outbreak”occurred. Only a skeleton crew remained of Cornerstone, but it was enough to retain ownership and continue service.

Out of the remaining lakes in the country only twelve thousand of them are still considered “Live”. Live Lakes are classified by still containing edible fish and plant life. Most are privately owned and inaccessible to the public. Lake Hope is number five on most active for fish breeding. It is home to twenty different species of fish. Edible, tasty, biologically pure fish.
Camp Hope’s Bible Camp hosts a staff of twenty. Fourteen Camp counselors, aged from sixteen to fifty one. Most of the camp counselors are former camp attendees. Two registered nurses, one for the day and one for the night. One camp director and assistant. The Cook and assistant.
The buses dropped off forty two children at Camp Hope. They were greeted by the senior counselors.
A large dark haired woman aged in her mid-thirties took the stage and demanded attention. “Since this year there’s an even number of you. We’re asking that you form groups of six. After you have formed a group of six, you must then all unanimously decide your “Clan Name”. This will be the name of your group for the 2 week duration of your stay. After you have decided your Clan Name, register your group on one of the sign-up sheets posted on the Directory Board where you first came in.” Camp Counselor Jesse pointed to the large board. Then she held up a sheet and pointed to the top line, “Print your Clan Name on the top line clearly, or we wont be able to read it and you wont be able to get any points. Underneath your Clan Name, every member must print their own name clearly so we can read it.” She pointed to the six lines under the first, then lowered the paper. “S’mores will be served as a reward for completing this task in a peaceful and calm fashion. And remember at the end of Bible Camp the group with the most points scored gets a weekend retreat for their family and friends at Lake Hope during the 4th of the July Fireworks Spectacular. You and your family and friends will enjoy free food, free lodgings, will be waited on by our illustrious camp staff.” Of which several chuckled at the mention of their name. Jesse continued, “And do not forget an unforgettable view of fireworks, not only in the beautiful night sky, but mirrored reflections in the Lake.”
“A stunning sight!” Camp Director Manning walked forward and took attention. “I never miss it, my daughter ate herself sick on the free ice cream last year. As many of you know, the 4th is a great day to bring forth Praise and Glory to the Lord in a land where Freedom of Religion still reigns though mostly only in legal form. Let us bow our heads and give thanks, and ask for God’s blessings and protection during the next two weeks.” Pastor Manning bowed his head and wait for the campers to silence. “Dear Lord, we are forever grateful for your many mercies and forgiveness. We thank you for your Son Jesus Christ, who died for us that we may live. Thank you for this time we share together, may it truly be filled with your Peace and vision of true Brotherhood. Please bring to us a spirit of Unity, of Community, and guide us to fulfill your Will. Protect us in all we say and do. In Jesus Name we Pray. Amen.” A chorus of Amen’s filled the air. The groups began top wander off in separate directions.
